"For over 35 years, my partner and I have loved camping. Whether here or abroad, we appreciate the privilege of sleeping in nature and exploring new places. Now that we have a Class B van customized by Nav Camper, we couldn't ask for a better way to travel across North America and enjoy its natural treasures. It's pure happiness.
With a rolling roof equipped with a 4x4 platform, this type of Class B van allows us to drive almost anywhere. From gravel roads to urban environments, we can confidently navigate the winding roads of many parks in the western United States. It's like traveling with a car, but with everything we need at our fingertips.
Having experienced this type of RV on multiple trips to South Africa, Namibia, and Australia, we knew exactly what we wanted on board. Both the interior and exterior of the RV were custom-designed to meet our needs as avid travelers.
We have a stove with two induction burners, and our cabinets are made of garnica poplar. This material, both lightweight and very sturdy, was highly recommended by European RV conversion workshops.
We also have two shower systems (indoor and outdoor), a good-sized refrigerator with a freezer, a fan, a mini-rooftop terrace that allows us to admire the horizon, and two 175-watt solar panels that we position towards the sun based on our location. We also opted for a Starlink system that provides satellite Internet access. It's a bit more expensive, but the signal is always present, no matter where we are.
I admit there are some features we rarely use, like the awning, which we've opened only twice. And although practical, our indoor toilet has been used just a dozen times during our two long trips in the United States. Most parks and private KOA campgrounds we visited had toilets that more than met our needs.
However, the custom installation we are most proud of is by far our fixed queen bed. As a result, we have a large space under the bed that becomes our "garage" where we can store our parasol, BBQ, golf bags, and foldable electric bikes. It was essential to store our bikes out of sight, and our intuition was correct. We've met people on the road who have been victims of theft because their bikes were mounted on racks.
I also didn't want a box at the back that would extend the length of the RV, which is already 23 feet long. I wanted a compact RV, which is very pleasant to drive.
Finally, in less than a year, we've already visited the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah. And this is just the beginning. California and British Columbia are on the agenda for our next trip this fall."
